About

Hey, I’m Meg! I’m a journalist, podcaster and educator based in Calgary, Alta.

This year, I joined the journalism faculty at Mount Royal University’s School of Communication Studies. I teach a mix of courses, but am particularly passionate about podcasting, and even created a second-year podcasting course within the program. You can check out the class’ final podcast, Calgary Canvas, on Apple Podcasts.

Aside from my teaching, I do a mix of freelance podcasting and radio work as well as voice work. You can also hear me Tuesday nights on CKUA for How I Hear It from 6-8 p.m. MT.

You may have heard my radio work as a host and producer on CBC Radio — I was also part of the team that created Banff Centre Radio. My writing has appeared in iPolitics, the Ottawa Citizen, CBC Music and CBC online. I also hosted season one of Everyday Bravery from Prudential, a podcast that celebrates the unsung heroes-next-door who practice acts of bravery every day.

If you have any story ideas or want to get in touch about a project, feel free to send me an email! You can reach me at meg.c.wilcox at gmail dot com.
